As of December 2018, the national unemployment rate is 3.9% which has created an increasingly tight economy. Finding new talent has become difficult and this is why recruiting using social media has become more popular.
On this episode of the Dynasty Leadership Podcast, Todd Schroeder of Vitaldyne Medical joins the show to discuss his career and how he became involved with social media recruiting.
Before becoming a CEO at Vitaldyne, Todd began his career in finance working his way up and becoming more involved with leadership through various companies.
Todd’s experience with social media recruiting comes from his time at Aeration Industries International where he started as CFO transitioning to COO and then CEO. He set out to find new and exciting people to create change.
This podcast covers Todd’s process for creating a company culture and how to find the right people which includes:
- Creating a message to build around
- Finding internal champions
- Using LinkedIn for outreach
- Connecting with people who already have jobs
- Using other social media to see interests
- Interviewing and onboarding
Todd choose to use this approach because the company needed to adapt and develop a new culture. They wanted to find early adopters and people that would buy into future growth.
One of the early adopters was Krista Ramirez, former head of Latin American Sales at Aeration Industries International. She became involved with recruiting on LinkedIn and is featured in this episode.
